Midwife Led Antenatal Classes in Derby

Your body, your baby, your birth, my mantra to all parents’ to be. Let’s work together on sharing information that allows you to understand what is happening, what you may wish to ask for and what you may choose to challenge in your pregnancy and birth journey.

I was into teaching and learning before I started my Midwifery journey, and completed my Master of Education degree, along with holistic therapy courses and Person-Centred Counselling training. I loved teaching antenatal classes in the NHS before they were stopped. Being a visual learner, I enjoy making learning materials that enable me and others to make sense of what I was teaching,  hey… everyone needs a knitted uterus in their life right! I am now also a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, most know us as Health Visitors, so I now get to work with families from the antenatal period through to school age. I especially love the antenatal contacts where I can share my knowledge and experience to aid families in making the right choices for them to try to achieve the best and most positive birth experience, that they go on to remember for the right reasons.
